Spaniard Juanse Pegalajar Joins the GHA For A Top-Flight Football Future
Aspiring professional footballer Juanse Pegalajar Valero, age 20, from Jean, Andalusia, is the first Spaniard to receive a scholarship to the prestigious Glenn Hoddle Academy, based at the Montecastillo Resort in Jerez, Southern Spain.
He joins a squad of players who share the goal of a career at the very highest levels of the game, all selected following recent trials in Spain under the watchful eye of Glenn Hoddle and his team of expert coaching staff.
Juanse, released from Baeza and Real Jaen CF, joins 20 players, previously released from top-flight clubs in England, all of whom have been personally invited by Glenn to join the Academy on a full-time scholarship.
The players have the opportunity to reach their full potential thanks to a unique development plan which ensures the players receive personal coaching from Glenn and his team, improving the players all-round ability.
While some players are taking Spanish lessons to prepare them for a career that may involve playing for Spanish or other top-flight European clubs, Juanse is improving his English as he develops his ambition of playing football at the highest levels.
Glenn Hoddle said: “Juanse impressed me with his effort and all-round ability during the selection process and I am delighted that he has signed a full-time contract with the academy. He not only demonstrated his ability with the ball but also his willingness to learn, something critical to his future success as we work with him to develop his skills and prepare him for a footballing future.
“Juanse is the first Spanish player to receive a contract with the GHA and he has settled in to the squad very well. I have high hopes for him and his inclusion in the squad adds a new dimension, that I am confident will appeal to English clubs as well as clubs in Europe as we showcase the talented players during our regular matches.”
