Glenn Hoddle Academy Player Has Trial With Ipswich
Glenn Hoddle Academy player Lino Goncalves has joined Championship side Ipswich Town for a trial, following recent strong performances for the Academy.
Lino, 20, a talented winger, was released last year from Fulham Football Club, and joined the Glenn Hoddle Academy in the Summer having impressed at the Academy’s initial trials.
He joined a squad of 25 players in Spain, all released from senior clubs and all hoping for a return to the professional game.
There has already been considerable club interest in members of the squad, both in England and further afield, following a range of friendly matches against senior Spanish opposition.
Lino is excited at the prospect of a trial at Ipswich. He said: “I was really pleased when Ipswich showed an interest in me. My goal is to get back into the game as soon as possible, and I hope to do well during my trial.
“The work with Glenn Hoddle and the coaching team in Spain has really made a huge difference to me, I am now more confident in my abilities and have a greater understanding of the game thanks to my time already at the Academy”.
Glenn Hoddle said: “I am really pleased that Lino has been invited for the trial. He’s a super character in the Academy and along with all the squad has special ability, something I hope will be spotted by Ipswich. We wish him well with the trial, I am sure he will impress.”
