About the Glenn Hoddle Academy

After two years of planning, the Academy opened its doors in June 2008. Following extensive trials in the UK and futher evalution periods in Spain, the first 25 players received full scholarships to attend the Academy. The Academy's reputation is growing quickly and attracting interest from all over the world.

The goal of the Academy is to give young players, who just failed to make the grade at top professional clubs, a second chance.

Glenn has long been convinced that making the critical, final decision on a youngster's career at the age of 18 is simply too early.

Professional football has been carelessly discarding home-grown talent for too long. The Academy will go some way to addressing this imbalance.

Players are granted full scholarships to the Academy, they are not asked to contribute anything.

The Academy is based at the Montecastillo Resort in southern Spain. The resort maintains top-quality grass pitches, gymnasium, spa, indoor and outdoor pools and tennis courts.
