Top-Flight Spanish Fixtures for GHA in 2009 Finale

The Glenn Hoddle Academy Club has returned to Spain to conclude its final fixtures of the year with some high profile matches on offer for the academy players to showcase their exceptional talent.

The academy has returned to Spain after a two week break in England where players trained with a number of English clubs, maintaining their fitness levels ahead of four major fixtures, which will see the GHA play: Cadiz FC, Huelva FC, Real Betis FC and Sevilla FC

The four fixtures are also very popular with the Spanish clubs as they provide an internationally trained and experienced opposition and a different challenge to their regular domestic opponents.

Ahead of these fixtures the players will continue their unique development programmes designed to improve their all-round football ability and provide them with the attributes they need to make it back into the professional game at the highest possible levels.

New players also continue to be assessed for the limited number of places that remain at the academy and a number of trialling players have returned to Spain to continue their quest for a full-time contract with Glenn and the team.

Glenn Hoddle said: “This is the final term of 2009 and we have lined up some of the best available teams to showcase the talent of our current squad. We also invite scouts and clubs to the games and at the same time our players get to play high caliber opposition so it is a win - win situation.

“We have a game scheduled against Sevilla FC, a club that last year were the first from Spain to contract one of our players when Ikechi Anya signed a two year professional contract with them.

“We will also be playing Huelva FC, another club that GHA players have successfully moved on to and we are confident that the latest squad of players will be equally as appealing.

“I am confident that the squad will perform well in these games and it really is a huge opportunity for the players to impress in front of the people that really matter in Spanish football.
